Cover Letter for Resume

A cover letter for resume submission has three basic purposes: it formally introduces you, it emphasizes or highlights specific and applicable items from your background which match the job description, and it helps smooth the process of setting up a meeting between you and the employer.

When you mail your resume to a prospective employer about a position that was advertised, a cover letter for resume gives the employer information about your strengths, abilities, and assets.

Hopefully, your cover letter sparks enough interest for the employer to want to interview you. Even though it takes some time to write a cover letter, it will save time in the long run because it will help you to avoid the places that aren't interested in you enough.

To create a successful cover letter for resume, you will want toattract the reader's attention. You can do this by keeping your letter neat and easy to read. It may be a good idea to use 8 ½ x 11" paper that is a little nicer than just your regular printer paper.

Make sure that your letter is also grammatically correct, using correct spelling, spacing, paragraphing, and margins. It is also essential that you address the cover letter to a specific person by name and that both the employer's and company's name is spelled correctly. If you want a good cover letter for resume, limit your letter's length to one page.

When you write your cover letter, you should think of the acronym AIDA. This stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action. These are the things that you must call the reader to do when you write your cover letter.

Attention to the reader is aroused by creating the letter for a specific person. You can provoke interest in the reader by sharing what you already know about the organization. In the body of your letter, you can produce some desire in the employer by describing what you can do for the company.

You can relate facts that are interesting and accurate which show how you can be an asset. In the last paragraph, you call the reader to action by straight-forwardly asking for an interview. You can also include dates and times when you will arrange to set one up.

When creating a cover letter for resume, be sure to use this simple approach and you will have success!
